James A. Thompson, Jr. of Copley, Ohio died suddenly December 1, 2017 at the age of 63.
Jim was born in Akron on June 25, 1954, eldest son of the late James and Daisy Thompson. He lived in Stow over 50 years prior to moving to Copley in 2007. He was a cancer survivor, graduate of Stow High School and the University of Akron, electrician at Ford Motor Company's Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, devoted husband, father and grandfather, life-long learner, and he loved studying the Bible. He was a member of Covenant Reformed Presbyterian Church in Chagrin Falls.
Surviving are his wife of forty years, Toby (Cosper); two sons, Matt (wife Kate) of Durham, NC and Adam of Akron; three grandchildren: Eloise, Graham, and Charlotte; brother Gary Allen (wife Renae); aunt and uncle Blanche and John Gretsinger, and cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pastor Ryan Somerville will officiate funeral services Wednesday 7 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4 PM until service time. Private interment Thursday at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Covenant Reformed Presbyterian Church, 3732 Fishcreek Rd., #277, Stow, OH 44224.
