Cheryl Ann Crowe (Osman)
January 16, 1945 ~ August 10, 2024
“For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven not built by human hands.” II Corinthians 5:1
A life-long resident of Stow, Cheryl graduated from Stow High School in 1963. Not long after, she married her high school sweetheart, Bill Crowe. In September they would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Her family grew to include three children and then five granddaughters. Loving and caring for her family was her greatest joy. Spending time with her family making memories was most important, and most times involved food. She leaves us with so many memories: Wednesday night dinners at grandma's, Disney on Ice, holiday traditions, and family vacations. Cheryl was that grandma that showed up, you could always find her at swim meets, band concerts, plays and school activities.
Many have been blessed by her sweetness as she spent her life decorating cakes and baking pies at her family’s business, Osman’s Pies. After high school, she attended Wilton’s Cake school in Chicago and brought cakes to the family pie business. Her talents and creativity have brought joy to countless people who have had one of her cakes for their own special occasions. After retiring from the bakery, she just couldn’t keep herself out of the kitchen, so she spent many years baking at Great Harvest Bread company as well.
Cheryl was actively involved in her community with Stow Women’s Club, Chamber of Commerce, Stow BPW and the Augmented 9. She served faithfully at her church in the choir, as a deaconess and MOPS mentor.
To know Cheryl was to love her and BE loved by her. She is remembered by all for her smile. She lived out her faith by showing kindness and hospitality to everyone she met.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ethel Osman, and her brother, Terry Osman. She is survived by her husband, William Crowe; her children, Wendy Crowe, Julianne (Todd) Dye, and Douglas (Jeanne) Crowe; and her grandchildren, Kaleigh (Seth) Hedrick, Taylor Dye, Mackenzie Crowe, Annalia Dye, and Lydia (Miranda) Crowe.
