Aaron “Tony” Ritchie Howkins, 28, died July 20, 2022.
Born in Cuyahoga Falls, he was a graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School, graduating with honors, and the University of Akron, graduating with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. He was on the Dean’s List for eight semesters. He was a cross country and track letterman in high school and a NCAA Division I runner in cross country and track in college; in addition, he was a MAC Distinguished Scholar recipient and earned first-team Academic All-MAC honors.
In March of 2022, he moved to Lexington, KY to begin his new career with Belcan Global Engineering as an International Trade Compliance Engineer.
In 2017, he traveled 10,000 miles on his motorcycle to the western states of New Mexico, California, Oregon, and Washington. Internationally, he traveled to Europe, SE Asia, and Iceland. A world traveler and great adventurer, Aaron’s generosity, huge spirit, and limitless curiosity will be deeply missed by all who were touched by him.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Rosemary Ritchie, and John Howkins, Ph.D.; aunt Cecilia Ritchie; uncles Donald Bauman and Gary Dage. He is survived by his parents, Erin (Ritchie) and Michael Howkins, D.O.; brothers, Joey (Becky), Damion, and Noah; grandmother, Beryl Howkins; "Uncle Dave"; uncles, Patrick (Patricia) Ritchie, Nathan (Laura) Ritchie, Shawn (Shawn) Ritchie, Shannon (Amy) Ritchie, Eathan Ritchie, Joshua (Jeannie) Ritchie, Murray (Monica) Howkins; aunts, Teresa (Bob) Johnston, Rosemarie (Ernie) Mathie, Roberta Bauman, Colleen Bell, Noreen (Michael) Stump, Kathleen (David) Tucker, Kelly (Alan) Shumaker, Sharon (Fernando) Rodriguez, and Enid Dage.
Friends will be received Sunday from 1 to 5 PM at Walsh Jesuit High School, 4550 Wyoga Lake Road, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44224. For those wishing to attend, please either be vaccinated or wear a mask. Private services and burial will be held Monday.
