Alice Mutti Loucks Becher

July 9, 1925 — November 4, 2022

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Alice Mutti Loucks Becher passed away of natural causes November 4, 2022, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

She was born July 9, 1925, to Arnold and Margaret Mutti, in Wakarusa, IN, graduating from Madison Township High School. Alice married Willis Loucks on June 30, 1944.

Upon his graduation from Purdue University, Alice and Willis took up residence in Stow, OH, where they had two children, Susan and Stephen. Willis passed away suddenly in March of 1971. Alice continued to reside in Stow with the children and was active in the First United Methodist Church. She met and married another wonderful man, Robert (Bob) Becher on September 23, 1978, having a second great marriage of 33 years until Bob’s passing in 2012.

Alice was born and raised on the Mutti family farm in Madison Township, IN. The youngest of four children and growing up during the Great Depression, she was no stranger to hard work, perseverance, and self-sufficiency. She was an excellent mother, wife, and homemaker, always taking good care of her own. Alice also looked out for those around her and anyone she knew needed help. She was quick to provide food, favors, clothing, errands, and babysitting to anyone she could help. She had a particular fondness for children and loved to babysit for young couples from the church, making lifelong friends in the process. She loved nature and especially birdwatching, with her favorite bird being the cardinal. She enjoyed sports of all types, especially college basketball. An avid golfer, bowler, gardener, and walker through the years, she stayed active and strong well into her 90s. Alice lived a long and blessed life, but she will be greatly missed on this earth.

Alice is survived by her loving son, Stephen Loucks of Ames, IA, and two grandchildren, Sarah Loucks of Fayetteville AR and Charles Loucks of Olympia, WA. Also surviving are her sister, Helen Mutti (George) Accoe of Wakarusa, IN; stepchildren, Barb Miles of San Diego, CA, Bev (Charley) Carter of Columbus, OH; Chris Becher, widow of Robert Becher, Jr., of Grandview OH, and many nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Becher of Cuyahoga Falls; daughter, Susan (Ray) Parbel of Stow, OH; brothers, Harold Mutti of Wakarusa, IN, and Charles Mutti, of South Bend, IN.
