Anne Marie Maite

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Anne Marie Maite, 82, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family, on Friday, September 8, 2023.

Anne was born in Akron, Ohio, on February 9, 1941, to Charles and Theresa Scofido. She is the oldest of three daughters. Anne graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1959. On August 6, 1960, she married the love of her life, Joseph Maite. They have been residents of Cuyahoga Falls all of their lives and are members of St. Joseph Parish.

Anne was a stay-at-home mom and built a beautiful home for her family. She ran a cake business from their home for many years and is well known for her skills in the kitchen. When not cooking Italian cuisine, or baking up delicious cakes, pies, or cookies, you could often find her in her beautiful garden, tending to her flowers and cacti, or reading a book. Anne and Joseph also loved to travel the world together and see new places. Anne was so full of life, love, happiness, and sass. She will be greatly missed by all those who know her, because to know Anne is to love her.

Anne is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Maite; their four children, Steven (Ursula) Maite, Joanne Maite, Denise (David) Mercer, and Monica Maite; four grandchildren, Lauren (Ben) Rydzewski and Joey Mercer, Sarah and Sophia Maite; two sisters, Joan Romanoski and Cathy Leach, as well as many cousins and close friends.

Anne is preceded in death by her mother and father, Charles and Theresa Scofido; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joseph and Jenny Maite, and brothers-in-law, Richard and Tim Maite, along with many aunts and uncles, and her beloved dog, Bebe.

Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, 44224, for visitation, Monday, September 11, 2023, from 4 to 7 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2023, 10 AM, at St. Joseph Parish, 1761 Second Street, Cuyahoga Falls, 44221.  Burial Oakwood Cemetery.
