Funeral Service of Mrs. Barbara Staley
CUYAHOGA FALLS - Barbara Staley was born to Bernice and Robert Cornelius Spencer in Jonesville, Virginia, on July 30, 1936.
For most of her adult years, she was a resident of Mount Healthy, Ohio, and more recently, she resided in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, since 2016. On January 23, 2024, Barbara died unexpectedly and entered eternity into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior.
Barbara was a dedicated and long-time member, (over 50 years), of the Central Parkway Church of God, (now known as Bridge of Hope Church), where she served as a Sunday School teacher for 30 years. More recently, she attended Stow Alliance Fellowship.
She attended Flatwoods School in Lee County, Virginia, and graduated from high school in 1955. Afterwards, she attended Hiwassee College for two years, (1955 to 1957), where she obtained an associate teaching degree. Barbara enjoyed homemaking, cooking, puzzling, shopping, playing bingo, reading a good book, and in her younger years, playing a good game of ping pong. Mostly, Barbara loved her family dearly and prayed for them daily.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Cordice Daniel Stewart; followed by her second husband of 47 loving years, Loyd Jasper Staley, and sons, Mark Stewart and Vince Staley. She is survived by her sister, Geraldine Grubb (nee Spencer); children, Joel (Rose) Stewart, Jennifer (Bill) Alvarez (nee Staley); stepchildren, Patti Schrenker (nee Staley), and Michael (Diana) Staley; grandchildren, Mick (Julie) Staley, Nicole Schuman, Danyel Staley, Heather Staley, Brandon Staley, Elijah Staley, Zacharias (Chelsea) Alvarez, and Graham Alvarez, as well as great-grandchildren, DJ Downing and Briella Staley.
On Sunday, January 28, 2024, friends may call from 1 to 3 PM, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224.
Two funeral services will be conducted: one in Stow, Ohio and the second one in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The first funeral service will be held Monday, January 29, 2024, where Pastor Chris Laws will conduct service, 3 PM, at Stow Alliance, 4460 Stow Road, Stow 44224. Friends may call from 2 PM until service time at the church.
The second funeral service will be held Friday, February 9, 2024, where Pastor Dallas Howard will conduct service, 1 PM, at Bridge of Hope Church, 2680 Roosevelt Avenue, Cincinnati 45231. Friends may call 12:30 until service time at the church. Interment to follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park, 11825 Pippin Road, Cincinnati 45231.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in honor of Barbara be made to a charity of their choice.
