SILVER LAKE - Barrett L. Dorko, 72, passed away on March 10, 2024, in Tallmadge, Ohio, surrounded by loved ones.
The youngest of six, Barrett was born and raised in Westlake, graduating from Westlake High School and The Ohio State University. A physical therapist and prolific writer, Barrett served patients, taught colleagues, and published thousands of professional essays over a career of more than 45 years.
A long-time resident of Silver Lake, Barrett was an avid reader and a man of varied interests and hobbies. He’ll be remembered by many in the community for juggling bowling balls (really!) at the Silver Lake Festival and walking his beloved beagle, “Buckeye”, through the neighborhood.
He is remembered by his family for his gentleness, his affable way of being, an endless knowledge across an innumerable variety of topics, and a willingness to help you move something heavy.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathleen; daughter, Jennie Green (Jon); son, Alex Dorko (Melissa); five grandchildren, Michael, Sam, Natalie, Charlie, and Annie; and his twin sister, Leah Dorko.
Rev. Dr. John Schluep will conduct service 3 PM, Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, 44224. Friends may call from 1 - 3 PM, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, and because he loved Seinfeld so much, please consider donating to “The Human Fund."
