Beth Ann Thomas

STOW - Beth Ann Thomas, 61, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 19, 2023.

Beth was born in Camden, New Jersey to Garth and Marian McHenry. Beth grew up in Akron, Ohio, from the time she was six years old. She graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Communications. After living in Medina, Ohio, Olean, New York, and Wadsworth, Ohio, she made her final home in Stow, Ohio in 2017. She attended Faith Lutheran Church from the time she was six years old and attended Riverwood Chapel while living in Stow.

Beth was a devoted and loving mother. Her grandson, Liam, was her pride and joy. Beth loved spending time with her family and friends and loved laughing and joking with them. She enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Lake Leelanau, Michigan, being outdoors, taking walks, and being in nature. Beth had a gift for interior decorating and loved helping her friends and family with this talent. She loved playing cards, games, baking cookies and pies for her family and friends, and helping out any way she could when someone was under the weather. Beth was always on the hunt for that special place, whether it be a unique and wonderful shop, a quaint little town, a small local hidden gem of a restaurant, or a place to have a special drink or a glass of wine, the whole time hoping to share these places with close friends and family.

Beth was preceded in death by her father, Garth McHenry. She is survived by her sons, Andy (Tanja) Thomas and Ben (Christine Orosz) Thomas; grandson, Liam Thomas; mother, Marian McHenry; brother, Scott (Mary) McHenry; sisters, Linda (Brad) Ulery, and Cindy (Michael) Callen, and many nieces and nephews.

Pastor Jean Hansen will conduct a memorial service on April 1, 2023, at 3:30 PM, at Faith Lutheran Church, 2726 W. Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44333. The family will receive friends for calling hours from 2:00 - 3:30 PM at the church.
