Bob J. Hedrick

SILVER LAKE - Bob J. Hedrick, 89, passed away December 30, 2022. Born October 1, 1933, in Christian, WV, he was a Stow area resident for 53 years prior to moving to Silver Lake in 2019. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War Era, he was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association, the Darrow Street Grange, Stow Lodge #768 F & AM, and St. Stephen Lutheran Church. Bob retired from GM as a machinist in 1994 after 31 years' service. Preceded in death by his parents, Hulan and Pansy Hedrick, he is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Elaine (Ahrens); daughters, Donna (Todd) Montgomery, Denise (Rupe) Whisman, and Diane (Scot) Kruger; son, Dale (Teresa) Hedrick; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Audrey) and Hulan (Patricia) Hedrick, and brother-in-law, Donald (Carol) Ahrens. Pastor John Corsi will conduct a memorial service Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 3725 Kent Road, Stow 44224, where calling hours will be held from 10 AM until service time. Private military interment service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church or the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
