BARBERTON - Carol Lewis, 73, died peacefully November 14, 2022, at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital.
She was born in Barberton in 1949, and lived most of her life there, except for a period of about five years when she lived in Coventry, graduating from Coventry High School in 1967, before moving back to Barberton.
Carol spent the remainder of her life in Barberton, becoming an executive secretary at B & W (Babcox and Wilcox) for their Nuclear Division, retiring from there after 41 years of service. She loved her job and became a member of a bowling league in which she played for several years.
She always loved dogs and had one or another all her adult life. Most of her free time was devoted to her dogs and to books, particularly Stephen King novels.
Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Mary (nee Lewis, Mikolich) Nemeth and a younger sister, Nancy Snow, of Coventry, a Covid-19 victim. She is survived by her older sister, Linda (Bill) White, of Silver Lake. She also leaves behind three nephews, two nieces, one great-nephew, and two great-nieces.
Special gratitude and heartfelt thanks are extended to her truly wonderful and caring medical staff on the 8th and 5th floor MICU and SICIJ units, particularly Jared and Ashley, for their expert knowledge and their loving care, as well as the kindness and tenderness they extended to Carol during her final days there. Everyone involved in her care was truly wonderful.
