Obituary of Carol A. Schrecengost




Carol A. Schrecengost of the Stow/Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio area, age 70, passed away on November 25, 2021.

Carol graduated from Brunswick High School in 1969 and graduated from Kent State University in 1973 with a degree in Education. She taught kindergarten for more than 35 years at Woodland Elementary School in Stow. Carol was very involved in martial arts and helped manage the Center for Body-Mind Harmony School for many years. She competed in Tai Chi tournaments around the area as well as receiving a third-place medal at a competition in China. Carol loved to travel and visited China, Japan, Australia, and Tibet, as well as many, many different places in the United States.

She is survived by her sister, Joann (Chuck) Zirkle and her nephew, Eric Zirkle. She was preceded in death by her mother, Winifred "Winnie" (nee O'Connell) Schrecengost, her father, James Delbert Schrecengost, and brother, James William Schrecengost.

A memorial service, (followed by a reception), will be held December 18, 2021, at 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Stow, 4880 Fishcreek Road. People who are unvaccinated will be required to wear masks.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol's name to Serenity Hospice, 4491 Darrow Road, Suite 1, Stow, OH 44224, and the Alzheimer's Association, 23215 Commerce Park, Suite 300, Beachwood, OH 44122.
