CUYAHOGA FALLS - Charles (Chuck) Wetzel, 65, passed away on March 23, 2025.
Chuck was born on July 6, 1959, in Akron, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Louise Wetzel; sister, Ginny Hubbard, and brother-in-law, Cecil Marxen.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Wetzel; sons, Brandon (Emily) Wetzel and Benjamin (Tricia) Wetzel; grandsons, Charlie and Frankie Wetzel, and granddaughters, Ellie, Layla and Riley Wetzel; brothers, Duane (Rene') Wetzel and Donald (Jewell) Wetzel; sisters, Sara (Larry) Jones and Rose Marxen. He is especially loved by all his little nieces and nephews, Cole, Zoey, Isabella, Addison, Noah, Grace, Apollo, Fox, Alex, and Max.
Chuck and Debbie were friends since junior high. They connected again later in life and got married in 2010. They were devoted to each other from the very beginning of their new life together.
Debbie loved to cook, and Chuck loved to eat! One of his favorite sayings was "A Mans's Gotta Eat!", then he would smile and nod his head.
Chuck was a machinist for 40 years. He retired from Automated Packaging/SealedAir. He was a jack of all trades, and there wasn't anything he couldn't do, or anyone he wouldn't help!
Chuck loved to hunt with his sons and best friend, Tony Cavallaro. They enjoyed spending time at the cabin, where Chuck still holds the record for the biggest buck. Motorcycling was a big part of Chuck's life also. He built a 1967 and a 1968 Harley Sportster for each of his sons. He also built and sold a 1955 Panhead.
Chuck and Debbie held a pig roast for 10 years to celebrate their life together. It was all about "food, fun, family and friends."
Special thanks to Sara Jones for helping in so many ways these last months of Chuck's life, brother-in-law, Larry Walters, for hangin' out with Chuck and just being there, brother-in-law Ken Walters, for making the trip north when times were at their toughest, and sister-in-law, Susie, for being there in the darkness when called upon.
