Cheryl Dee Sanders

MUNROE FALLS - Cheryl Dee Sanders, 61, died December 29, 2020. Born in Cambridge, England to the late Merle E. and Geraldine (Elliott) Tuckerman. Also preceded in death by her husband, William Sanders in 2008.

Cheryl was a registered nurse and attended Idabelle Firestone School of Nursing. She worked in her early years in the burn unit at Akron Children's Hospital. She later became a Director of IT at Akron Children's where she worked for over 35 years.

Cheryl was passionate about oriental culture and traveled with her husband, Bill, to China and South Korea to collect exotic Koi. She was a member of the Akron Goldfish Society, where she showed their fish and won many prizes. Bonsai cultivation was another one of Cheryl's hobbies.

Cheryl was a gourmet cook and loved to bake for her family. She was a dedicated caregiver to her husband, Bill, before he died and has taken care of her brother, Michael, for the last 16 years.

Cheryl is survived by her sisters, Suzanne (Kenneth) Weegar, and Cynthia (Walter) Fink; brother, Michael Tuckerman; niece and nephews, Amy, Lisa, and Scott (Jennifer) Weegar, and Emily and Michael (Nicole) Fink; and great nephews, Carter and Conner Weegar, and great niece Scarlett Fink.

A private memorial service will take place for the immediate family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Akron Children's Hospital, One Perkins Square, Akron, Ohio 44308 or American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, Ohio 44406.
