STOW - Cynthia (Cindy) Ann Leas, 75, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2022.

She is preceded in death by her father, Paul J. Brown, mother, Joan Brown, and brothers, Kirk and Tim Brown.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 56 years, Donald H. Leas, her children, Erik Leas, David (Tracy) Leas, and Taryn (Scott) Chmielowicz. Her grandchildren meant the world to her including Evan Leas, Kaden Leas, Angelina Leas, Brandon Chmielowicz, Baron Leas, Grady Chmielowicz, Jasper Leas, Elijah Leas, and her two bonus grandchildren, Wyatt and Anna Pringle.

Cindy was born June 26, 1947. She spent her younger years in Akron on North Hill living with her parents and Italian immigrant grandparents. Her family moved to Stow in 1955, where she met Donald Leas who lived down the street. Cindy and Don were high school sweethearts, and both graduated from Stow High School. They wed September 17, 1966, at Holy Family Church in Stow.

Cindy went on to receive her cosmetology degree and was a hairdresser at Evelyn Dickerson Hair Design in Kent for many years. When her children came along, she left her career to be a full-time mom. She joined Junior Mothers and became the best room mother, baseball fan, baseball coach’s wife and cheerleading fan. All along the way making friends and connections that would last a lifetime.

She was an artist at heart and spent many years painting and selling her goods at craft shows with her sister-in-law, Carolyn Mate. Once she became “Grammy,” she loved spending time with her grandchildren and continued her super fan status at all their events.

In recent years, Cindy enjoyed trips to Italy, connecting with her extended family in Sicily, knitting, gardening, bowling, and baking. She and Don recently renovated a lake house where Cindy loved hosting friends and family. She had a heart of gold and made everyone around her feel welcome. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her, but never forgotten.
