Dale G. Onderak

STOW - Dale G. Onderak, age 77, passed away March 17, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Dale was born in Cleveland, Ohio to George and Anna Onderak. He graduated from Barberton High School in 1962, and continued his education with a chemistry degree from Ohio Northern University. Dale then received his Doctorate Degree in Organic Chemistry from Ohio University. He was employed at Schneller, Inc., for 34 years and served as the Vice-President of Research and Development prior to his retirement. During his retirement, he enjoyed time spent in Florida, golfing, boating, and fishing.

Dale found joy in music, food, family, faith, sports, and random trivia. He celebrated his faith at the United Methodist Church in Kent. He loved (endured?) watching all the Cleveland sports teams, however, he most enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids play sports. Dale really enjoyed learning fun facts throughout his whole life. He liked to share these "gems" as he called them. He loved listening to music and talking with his friends, neighbors, and family whenever possible.

Preceded in death by granddaughter, Riley Grace Harper, and brother, Dennis Onderak. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Judith Onderak; daughter, Kara (Kevin) Harper; son, Eric (Heather) Onderak; grandchildren, Maritza, Bryan, Sophie, Liam, and Colin.

Friends may call 4 PM to 7 PM Monday at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224. The family asks that those who attend wear a mask if possible. Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron.

The family wishes to thank his Cleveland Clinic oncology care team and his at-home care team of all the family and friends that supplied calls, texts, food, and words of encouragement during his lengthy treatment.
