Dale A. Patterson

January 1, 1959 — January 13, 2025

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Dale A. Patterson, 66, was received into God’s loving arms on January 13, 2025, following a brief illness.

He was deeply loved and will be missed by his family. He is survived by wife, Cindy; daughters, Kenda and Nina (Jimmy Volcansek); parents, Kenneth and Rita Patterson; brother, David (Karen) Patterson, and many extended family members.

Dale was born on January 1, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio. After graduating from Utica High School in 1977, he attended the University of Kentucky where he studied business and finance. He continued to be a huge Kentucky Wildcats fan throughout his life.

Dale retired in April 2024 from Ohio Power/American Electric Power with 40 years of service. He was appreciated as a colleague and mentor by those he worked with.

Dale was a man of few words whose actions spoke loudly. He was caring and compassionate, kind and generous, and would do anything for you. He valued his family and friends and continued to nurture those relationships well.

He was an avid sports fan. In addition to the Wildcats, Dale loved Ohio State Football and the Cleveland Guardians. He loved playing sports, watching sports, coaching sports, and talking about sports.

Dale loved to travel with his family. He also enjoyed hiking, reading, spending time with his daughters, and playing board games.

His faith was the cornerstone of Dale’s life. He gave generously of his time and his resources to the churches he was a part of. He loved teaching, coaching, mentoring children (and adults), and serving where needed. He was particularly passionate about Royal Family KIDS Camp, a camp for children of challenging backgrounds in the foster care system.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 11 AM, at Montrose Zion United Methodist Church, 565 North Cleveland-Massillon Road, Akron 44333. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Family graveside services will follow later that afternoon at Silver Springs Cemetery in Stow.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to help us establish a fund to send campers to Royal Family KIDS Camp into the future. Donations may be sent to Northampton United Methodist Church - RFKC, 852 West Bath Road, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223.

Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.
