Dave Smith

STOW - Dave was born Nov 2, 1948 to Clarence(Casey) and Henrietta Smith in Akron and passed away on Dec 4, 2023 at his home in Toledo.
He is survived by wife Jessie, daughters Michelle(Jason) Bond of Middleton Wi and Heidi Moulton of Coppell TX, brother Bruce(Harriet), sister Patricia, grandsons Nathan and Eliejah Bond, and stepson Christopher Brewer.
Dave was born in Akron, grew up on North Hill, during the summer he played baseball at the 3 Patterson ballfields, built derbies, tree houses, and a go-cart. Wintertime was passed building forts, igloos, snowmen and sled riding. He graduated from St Martha's, moved to Stow in ‘62, then graduated from Stow High in 1966 where he played baseball and soccer. Prior to graduation from the U of Akron in business, Dave could frequently be found at Dragway 42 running his H-class Falcon or dancing to Motown tunes when he met and married Jennifer, the mother of his girls.
They moved to South Park PA where he worked as a Ford Rust Rep in the greater Pittsburgh area. In his free time he enjoyed boating, water skiing, fishing and restored many discarded Big Wheels for his young daughters and reconditioned a ‘67 Sprite for his brother’s 1st ride in ‘74.
They moved to Berea when he was initially employed by Jeep and participated in N.E.O.S.C.C. Autocross events while completing a 3.6 XKE restoration before moving to Sylvania where their lawn tractor races began. His last move was to Toledo prior to his retirement.
We will sadly miss Dave’s positive outlook and especially his "Yeh Buddy !" when excited.
There will be a private family get together at a later date.
Interment will be at the Stow cemetary.
