CUYAHOGA FALLS - Don “Pop” Barker, 70, died peacefully Feb 5, 2023.
Born in Akron, Ohio, he was a lifelong resident of Cuyahoga Falls. Don was an Eagle Scout, who earned his God and County award. He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School where he was captain of the wrestling team. Don went to The University of Akron and was a certified behavioral modification therapist. He later retired from the State of Ohio as an activities therapist.
In their early years of marriage, Don and Becky went on a missions trip to Haiti. Don returned several years later for another assignment. In retirement, Don was an avid gun and coin collector. Don’s grandsons, Jace and Jacob, later became the hobby he loved even more. He and his wife, Becky, had been married 47 years, and he treasured every moment with her. Don and Becky attended Christ Community Chapel together.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Don L. Barker. He is survived by his mother, Anna Belle Barker, of Cuyahoga Falls; wife, Becky; son, Dan (Lauren), and grandsons, Jace and Jacob Barker, of Jackson Township. Additionally, he is also survived by his brothers, Steven of Kennewick, Washington, Ken of Tallmadge, Ron (Linda) of Tallmadge, and many nieces and nephews.
Pastor Dan Page will conduct a memorial service, Friday, February 17, 2023, at 7 PM, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, where friends may call from 5 PM until service time.
