BRIMFIELD – Dorothy E. (Dunlevy) Costen, our precious, beautiful, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 88 on Friday, November 25, 2022.
Dorothy was always very patient with her family over the years. Her husband Rick called her “ever patient Dottie.” She was born in Akron and was a member of Stow Alliance Fellowship Church where she sang in the choir until she was 79 years old. She had been employed by Altieri’s Pizza, Ben Franklin Stores, O’Neil’s Dept. Store in Stow and was a head teller at Huntington Bank on Darrow Road in Stow.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Dunlevy; father, Stephen Payne; step-father, Bob Dunlevy, and by her husband Rick Costen, whom she met in high school, the old South High School in Akron.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Vivino who will miss her very much and took great care of her and loved it. Her grandson, Joe Vivino, also took great care of her, and enjoyed helping her.
She is also survived by daughters, Cheryl Costen and Diana Barkman (Mitch); granddaughters, Miranda and Lynette; great-grandchildren, Mia, Serena, Elicia, Laurel and Cole; brother, Larry; sisters, Shirley (Vito), Beverly and Roberta, to whom she was very close.
She will be missed by all who knew her. She was a wonderful lady!
There will be no calling hours or funeral services. Private entombment will be held at Northlawn Memorial Gardens next to her husband Rick.
