TALLMADGE - Dorothy M. Spade, 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior January 27, 2012.
Born in Akron, she had lived in Goodyear Heights for 33 years prior to moving to Tallmadge in 1994. She was faithful in serving the Lord as a volunteer at Haven of Rest and with Gideons International, and was an active member of Brown St. Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Willard in 2010, and by parents Harry W. and Sarah A. Smith, she is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Dick and Julie Smith; nieces Karen (David) Swift, Sharon Slingerland, Hannah (Michael) Paulin and nephew Brian (Leanne) Swift.
Pastors Steven Rebert and Robert Kuhns will conduct service Tuesday 12 noon at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends are invited for visitation Monday from 4 to 6 PM. Burial Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Missionary Fund at Brown Street Baptist Church, 541 Brown Street, Akron 44311, to Gideons International, PO Box 1192, Akron 44309 or Haven of Rest, 175 E. Market St. P. O. Box 547, Akron 44309-0547.
