Obituary of Duane V. Peterson




STOW - Duane V. Peterson, 91, went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife, Catherine on March 4, 2022.

Born in Indianapolis, IN to Paul V. and Dorothy Smith Peterson, he was a veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserve and U.S. Navy, entering into service via the V6 program at the University of Notre Dame. Duane was past president of the Stow Kiwanis Club, and a member of Stow Lodge #768 F & AM, Stow Shrine Club and Tadmor Shrine. He was founder and president of a medical service, Affirmed Medical of Ohio, and Swift Medical.

Preceded in death by his parents, Paul V. and Dorothy Smith Peterson; his wife, Catherine, and son, James Howard Peterson. He is survived by his sisters, Shirley Hartney and Judith Mattern, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Rev. Nanette Pitt will conduct funeral service at 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at First Congregational Church of Akron, 292 E. Market Street, Akron 44308. Friends may call from 12:30 PM until service time. Burial Arlington National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Children's (shrinerschildrens.org)
