Edith Marie "Edie" Riley

Edith Marie Riley, 89, passed away August 22. Born September 28 to Betty and Samuel Burrell, she was raised in Akron and lived in Stow most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leland Long, and her second husband, Henry Riley. She is survived by her beloved children and their spouses, Julie (John) Hykes, Cindy (Al) Alam, and Christopher (Joyce) Long, and her adored grandsons, Alex (Elicia) Grunder, Aaron (Carmen), Jordan (Megan), Zachary Alam, Nathan and Adam Long, and great-grandson, Parker Grunder.

Known for her fiery red hair, Edie had a generous heart and loved being with her grandsons. She told many stories about her adventure-filled childhood. As a girl, she loved roller skating, going to Summit Beach Park, and playing the accordion.

A private graveside service will be held September 1, 2021, and a celebration of life for family and friends will be held at her son's house, September 4, 2021, from 1 to 5 PM.
