Edward Armani

August 19, 1966 — August 8, 2023

MUNROE FALLS - Edward Armani, 56, died August 3, 2023.

Born in Akron, Eddie’s heart was in New York or Paris. He has been a resident of Munroe Falls since 2012. After a brief love-hate relationship with retail sales, Eddie became a top earner for Citizen Action. He had many fond memories of going door to door and educating the hoi polloi about the political issues of the day. Although if it were up to him, Eddie would have been advising them on their fashion choices.

Eddie passed away peacefully in his sleep. He is survived by his brother, David Hodge. He will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, please treat yourself to some Gucci, Armani, or Yamamoto.

Eddie was an amazing friend to many. He was caring, dedicated, understanding, charming, eclectic, and incomparably witty. Eddie was an avid collector of Godzilla figurines and art house films. He had a keen eye for fashion and was always stylishly dressed in designer couture. Eddie loved to entertain and was always eager to expose his friends to a new film from his massive collection. Many will miss his larger-than-life personality.

The outpouring of memories and praise on Facebook has been so tremendous, it would be a crime not to include a few quotes here to provide some context for our terrible loss . . .

He always made me smile and taught me to look at the world in a different pair of kaleidoscope shades.

Eddie taught me to always have a camera before the invention of the smart phone. Eddie almost couldn’t fail at being photographed.

He was sweet, funny, appreciated both the great and the trashy, and from what I can tell, made everyone feel special. He was a character in every sense of the word.

The first time I met him, he was wearing a suit and speaking with a British accent.

He remains solid in the fondest of memories shared, the laughter we enjoyed, and all the dance moves we attempted. He will be forever missed and cherished.

A true original with infectious laughter. I have countless volumes of our friendship stored in my heart and mind.

Eddie possessed a heart of sheer gold and was always there to lend a listening ear and make our band of misfit friends feel seen and heard. He loved to be the life of the party, reminding us to embrace life with the same zest and enthusiasm he had. His passion for dancing was infectious and the creativity of his videos was unmatched.

It’s difficult to say farewell to a vibrant remarkable soul who left an indelible mark on my life, all our shared memories and journeys together were some of the best days.

Thank you, Eddie, for bringing so much sparkle to my life, you know you are deeply loved.
