Edward M. Dicato

STOW - The family of Edward M. DiCato announces his passing on June 20, 2024, at the age of 72 years.

Edward is survived by his son, Henry, and wife, Heather; stepdaughter, Megan Tellalian, and husband, Ronnie; his siblings, David (Jackie), Christine Thaxton (Fred), Antoinette Kelley (Patrick), and Maria McCarty (Fred), as well as his grandchildren, Victoria, Emilie, Massimo, Vincent, Gabriel, and Dominic. Edward was predeceased by his wife of 21 years, Darlene DiCato; his parents, Henry and Rose DiCato, and his daughter, Marissa Styron.

Edward was born on October 26, 1951, in Canton, Ohio. He attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Louisville, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Akron in 1975. He returned there to graduate with Juris Doctor degree in 1991.

Edward married Darlene on February 19, 2000, at Tallmadge United Methodist Church in Tallmadge, Ohio.

Edward was originally employed by General Tire as a senior systems analyst in Akron, Ohio. After receiving his law degree, he went into private practice, specializing in criminal cases. He retired from his law practice in 2015.

A celebration of Edward's life will be held 11 AM, Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road in Stow, Ohio, with Pastor John Corsi officiating. Friends may call 10 AM to service time. Interment will follow at Silver Springs Cemetery, located at 5080 Stow Road in Stow, Ohio.

The family would like to thank Edward’s personal aide, Cyndie, for the gentle care she provided to him over the last year, as well as the staff of Echo Hospice.
