STOW - Edward (Ed) Lapuh, 74, passed away on Feb 16, 2024.
He is survived by his wife, Anne; children, Jeffery (Hannah Perrine), Wendy Jenkins (Keith), and Julie; sisters, Patti LaRiccia and Kim Mamrack (Dan).
Ed was a decorated football player, playing under Bill Gutbrod at St. Joseph High School in Cleveland. From there he went on to play for The Ohio State Buckeyes and legendary coach, Woody Hayes, where he was part of the 1968 National Championship team. As part of that team, he not only got to play in and win the Rose Bowl, but he was part of the famous “Because I couldn’t go for three” win over Michigan. Ed went on to finish his football career at Defiance College where he was a standout two-way player in addition to handling the kicking duties.
After college, Ed served a distinguished career as a Special Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, where he retired after 25 years. Ed was an avid golfer and was a tremendous chef in the kitchen, unafraid to try anything he saw on one of those cooking shows.
