Obituary of Elizabeth Hays




SILVER LAKE - Elizabeth Hays, 85, died October 20, 2021.

Her life began in the Netherlands, where she survived WWII as a child and later worked for the American Consulate. She emigrated to America in her early 20s and worked for Chemical Abstracts as a translator until she met her husband, Donald Hays. Together with her husband, they were business owners creating the company ESI Extrusion Services, Inc. She was a member of Silver Lake Garden Club and WITAN. Elizabeth was a loving person who cared deeply about her family and friends.

Preceded in death by husband, Donald F. Hays, Jr.; son, Donald F. Hays, III, she is survived by her daughter, Karen Vetter and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Donald F. Hays, IV, Nathaniel Vetter, and wife Faye; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Conner, Annie, and Asher, and sister-in-law, Debbie (Bill) Warnock.

Friends may call Sunday 3 to 6 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow. Burial Monday 1 PM Monday at Scioto Burial Park, 4757 McDermott Pond Creek Road, McDermott, OH 45652.
