STOW - Emma C. Jensen, 33, passed away on April 24, 2024.
Born in Akron, she has been a resident of Stow since 1990. Band was a big part of her school life, where she played trumpet. Marching band season was always her favorite. She had a passion to help others that manifested in multiple ways. During high school, she traveled on mission trips to work with Lakota children in Bonesteel, South Dakota. Later, working with Esperanza International, she helped build small concrete homes in the communities surrounding Tijuana, Mexico. These experiences lead her to make International Studies her major for her bachelor’s degree at Ohio University.
After working at various jobs related to childcare, she decided to return to school for a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Kent State. She did her student teaching at Norton Elementary School before joining the staff at the Campus International School, on the Cleveland State Campus with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
Everywhere Emma went, folks fell in love with her as was demonstrated during her hospital stay starting in February - the medical professionals giving her care for those three months just adored her. Emma was an organ donor, so an attempt was made by the kind folks at Lifebanc, sending her off with a very large Hero’s Walk when the time came. Emma, not unlike Queen Elizabeth, found solace in her beloved Corgis - first Winnie, then Ted, and now, her baby, Carl. She spread joy and so do they wherever they go.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Grace Jensen; uncle, Jerry Jensen, and her brother, George “Geo” Jensen, II. She is survived by her parents, Sue and George Jensen, Sr.; brother, Tony (Katy Bright) Jensen; sister-in-law, Allison Kee-Jensen; first best friend, Jordan Glutting; first best family, Aimee and Jeremiah Boland, Ben Jensen Boland, and Molly Grace Boland; uncles, Gary (Nancy) Jensen, and Grant Jensen; aunt, Sharon (David) Perkowski; cousins, Andy (Misty) Jensen, Eric (Sarah) Jensen, Patrick (Bethany) Perkowski, Alyssa (Milan) Perkowski, Jon (Maria) Perkowski, Christine Cole Jensen, and Celina Jensen; second cousins, Alaina Jensen, Erick Hearty, Maritza Hearty, Riley Jensen, Evan Jensen, Nevin Boland, Kyleigh Boland, Maxwell Perkowski, Elodie Perkowski, Jacob Hillyard, Iliana Kozul, and Ivana Kozul.
Friends and family are invited to the Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, 44224, for visitation, Friday, May 3, 2024, 5:30 - 8:30 PM. A Memorial Service will take place at Bethany United Church of Christ, 1235 Broad Blvd., Cuyahoga Falls, 44223, on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 11:11 AM.
Emma will be sadly missed by a multitude of friends and associates who all came together in her time of need, and for that, she and all of the family are grateful. Still another multitude would be her students . . . she sure had a way with us all.
In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to the "Ever Loved for Emma fund" at
