HUDSON - Firmin (Herky) Kodrich, 84, died April 3, 2024.
Born in Moon Run, PA, he was a resident of Hudson since 1971, and a U.S. Army veteran. Herky had been employed with Republic Steel as a general foreman, retiring in the later 90s. Herky was known for the clam bakes he put on for the Republic Steel Supervisors’ Club and the Hudson FOP/FOPA.
He was a member of St. Mary Parish in Hudson. Herky started his community service with the Boy Scouts of America Cub Troop in Bedford Heights in the 60s. He was an active member of FOPA Lodge 68, American Legion Post 464, VFW, Elks, and Cuyahoga Falls Moose Lodge #918. He received the Pilgrim Degree, which is the highest degree in the organization.
Herky was a devoted husband and father and will be deeply missed by all.
Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gladys Kodrich; daughters, Shari Botta, Deborah Maglionico, and Liane (Doug) Conrad; sons, F. Michael and Christopher (Christina) Kodrich; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at St. Mary Parish, 340 North Main Street, Hudson, OH 44236. Friends may call 1 - 3 PM and 5 - 7 PM, Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224.
