Gary Daniel Mcmillen

STOW - Gary D. McMillen, 63, went home to be with the Lord January 15, 2021.

"I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid." from John 14:27

Born in Akron, he grew up in Silver Lake then became a resident of Stow for 37 years. Gary had been employed with Terry Lumber and Supply Company, who was like a second family to him. He attended Riverwood Chapel, as a faithful follower of Christ, with an admiration for The Sermon on the Mount. Gary placed his heart and soul within his family and cherished his time with them above and beyond anything else.

He found joy in American History, fishing, his love for animals, and his 1978 Ford F100 truck. He was an avid woodworker who freely shared his wisdom, that will not pass with the end of his earthly life, but will live on within his family. His love will carry on and he will be greatly missed.

Preceded in death by his father, John McMillen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Helen Capriola; and sister-in-law, Lisa Gaskins. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, who grew up as his neighbor since the age of 5, Ava McMillen; daughter, Audrey (Dr. Andrew Goldblum) McMillen; mother, Katherine McMillen; brothers, Frank (Lori), David (Vicki) McMillen; sister, Linda McMillen; in-laws, Denise (Chuck) Brinkley, Gina (Dave) Bokmiller, Dan (Andrea) Capriola, and Bob Gaskins; work family, Terry Lahoski, John Lahoski, and Russ Morgan, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends at 10 AM Saturday, January 30 at Riverwood Chapel located at 1407 Fairchild Avenue, Kent, OH 44240. Pastor Jeff Haynes will conduct service at 11 AM, graveside service to follow at Silver Springs Cemetery, 5080 Stow Road, Stow, OH 44224.

All safety precautions will be enforced, masks will be mandatory, as well as social distancing will be practiced, and hand sanitation will be available.
