Geneva E. Smerk

STOW - Geneva E. Smerk, 75, died April 23, 2024.

Born in Coffee County, TN, she has been a resident of Stow since 1974. Geneva had been employed with Kmart as a sales associate and later Walmart in the deli department, where she retired. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Geneva loved spending time with family, collecting owls and gnomes, as well as watching television.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Smerk, Jr.; her parents, Gaston E. and Ruby E. Hunt; sister, Pat Ulmer; brothers, BW, Richard, Lenn, and Glenn; son, Mark Smerk, and her daughter, Jennifer Movens.

She is survived by her brother, David Hunt; sister, Evelyn (Tom) VanDeVeer; children, David (Jackie), Sherry (favorite son-in-law, Shawn) Kesler, Andy (Kerri), and Buddy; grandchildren, Mitchell and Ryan, Andrea (Jenna) Phillips, Alex (Hannah), Tony (Amanda), BJ, and Jared Movens, Joseph (Jessica) Kesler, Amanda (Blake) Stebner, Ashley, Sage, Kane, and Erica Tucker, Victoria, Derrick, and Samantha; thirteen great-grandchildren, and numerous friends and family.

Fr. Paul J. Rosing will conduct service 7 PM, on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, 44224. Friends and family may call from 4 - 7 PM, Monday, at the funeral home.
