Georgia Rae Lusk

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Georgia Rae Lusk, 90, departed from this life to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from complications following surgery a week earlier.

She was born to Benjamin Lusk and Virginia (Baker) Lusk, on June 12, 1933. Benjamin served with the Marines for three years and died on September 6, 1933. As a child, Georgia lived with her mother, her aunt, Nellie Longwell, and her cousin, Jim Longwell, who she always thought of as a brother.

Georgia worked for B.F. Goodrich/Michelin Tire Company, starting as a bookkeeper in 1951, and retiring as a tax accountant in 2011. Baptized at the age of 13, she was a devout Christian for the remainder of her life and a longtime member of The Chapel in Akron, Ohio. Georgia loved to sing and sang in various church choirs as a teenager on through her later years.

Georgia was a dedicated and loving daughter, caring for her mother for years until her death in 1993. She was kind and generous to those in need and supported a variety of worthy Christian causes throughout her life. Georgia was a beloved friend to many, in whose lives she has sown love, grace, and hope, and who will miss her greatly.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to friends, Tom and Linda Kot, Pat Haley, Margaret Wilford, Kathy Stevens, David Carpenter, and Larry and Marsha Bond, who have showered Georgia with much love and care over the years.

She is survived by many friends as well as her cousins, Ron and LaCresha Longwell of Shelbyville, Tennessee, Randy and Annette Longwell of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Nathan and Lauren Longwell of Shelbyville, Tennessee.

Funeral service will be held 10 AM, Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224. Friends may call from 9 AM to service time at the funeral home. Burial Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Peninsula.
