Gerald (Jerry) A. Trent

September 21, 1944 — April 23, 2023

NORTH CANTON - Gerald A. Trent (Jerry), went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 23, 2023, after a seven-year battle with cancer. Jerry’s kind and humble nature blessed so many people’s lives. Jerry was hardworking, giving, and always willing to help anybody with the simplest task to the most difficult without hesitation. In addition to his willingness to help, he also had many hobbies. He loved to fly and earned his pilot license. Jerry also enjoyed cooking, singing, golfing, and fishing, but only if he caught something. Jerry was born in Charleston, West Virginia on September 21, 1944, to Arley and Ruby Trent. He served in the Army from 1962-1965 and was a sergeant in the Armor Division. While in the Army, he married the love of his life, Connie Logan, on January 8, 1964. Following his time in the Army, Jerry earned his HVAC license. After working in the industry for several years, Jerry took his strong work ethic, insight, and perseverance, and started his own successful HVAC company. He owned and operated his business up until the time of his death. Jerry was also a member of The Lighthouse Church in Cuyahoga Falls for over 40 years. Jerry loved his family unconditionally and always put them first. He leaves behind his loving wife, Connie, of 59 years; two daughters, Lynn Agosta (Salvatore) and Sara Falatok (Mike). He had six grandchildren, Dustin Agosta (Travis), Austin Agosta (Hannah), Christian Agosta (Victoria), Mike Falatok (Shea), Drew Falatok, and Landon Falatok. He also had one great-grandchild, Joseph G. Agosta. Jerry is also survived by two brothers, Tommy Newcomer and Arley Trent, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at The Lighthouse Church, 315 Graham Road, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223. The family will receive friends at 2 PM and services will begin at 3 PM. Private interment to be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Melanoma Skin Cancer Research in Jerry Trent’s name.
