Geraldine (Gerry) A. Francini (Nee Reising)

MUNROE FALLS - Geraldine (Gerry) A. Francini (nee Reising) passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Gerry was born on February 15, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio. She married Rich in 1958, and they relocated to Munroe Falls in 1962, where she remained until her passing. She worked at Hough Bakery and Ohio Bell before marriage. Gerry was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom until her children were in high school. If you had ever eaten lasagna at Parasson’s Italian Restaurant in the late 70s, then you’ve eaten some of Gerry’s cooking. She went on to work at Printer’s Devil in Hudson for several years before finally retiring. “Nana,” as she was known to her family, was fond of creating big meals for her growing family, including her famous desserts and cookies. Gerry liked tending to her flower garden and was an accomplished seamstress. Many new babies enjoyed one of Gerry’s puffy biscuit quilts over the years. Her family will miss her sense of humor and down to earth point of view.

Gerry is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Richard Francini; her son, Richard Francini; her parents, Richard and Grace Reising, and her brother, Richard Reising. Gerry is survived by her sons, Jerome (Alice) Francini, and Daniel (Kathy) Francini; daughter, Nancy (Mike) Millhouse, and daughter-in-law, Robin Francini; grandchildren, Dominic (Tammy) Francini, Carol (Joshua) Spangler, Anthony (Rebekah) Francini, Vincent Francini, Rachel (Anthony) Rocco, and Trevor Millhouse; great-grandchildren, Julian, Wesley, Everett, Santino, Carolina, and one arriving in March. She also leaves her brother, Thomas (Nancy) Reising; sister, Grace Stanziale, and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her special four-legged companion, Charlie.

Friends may call on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 5 to 8 PM, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, 44224. Fr. Pete Colletti will conduct Mass of the Christian Burial, 11 AM, on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 1821 Munroe Falls Avenue, Cuyahoga Falls, 44221. A luncheon will be served in the church social hall following interment at Stow Cemetery.

The family wants to thank the Critical Care team at Cleveland Clinic/Akron General for their care and compassion for Gerry during her final days.
