Irene Ann Murphy

TALLMADGE - Irene Ann Murphy, 71, passed away peacefully November 16, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born in Akron, she was a resident of Tallmadge since 2010. Irene had been employed with Nabisco as a sales representative, retiring in 2023. She attended Redemption Chapel in Stow and loved her women’s Bible study table. Her greatest love in life was her grandchildren and the time she spent with her family. She especially loved their Sunday family dinners.

Preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Helen Melert, and her brother, James Melert.  She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Paul Murphy; sons, James Murphy and Joe (Jenn) Murphy; grandchildren, Carson and Kara Murphy; sisters, Janet (Zak) Zakraysek and Mary Ann (Gregg) Dawkins; brother, Bob Melert, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Service will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Redemption Chapel, 3900 Kent Road, Stow 44224. Friends may call 4 - 7 PM, Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224.
