STOW - James (Jamie) Patrick Mima, age 67, went to be with our Lord on November 13, 2024.
Jamie is survived by his wife, Lynnette (Edwards); his stepson, Felip Ramos; two beloved dogs, Mia and Hanani; his parents, James A. and Sally (Sinkhorn) Mima; siblings, Todd Mima, Shaun (Beque) Mima, and Beth Mima. He had many other family members from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida and North Carolina, whom he loved dearly, as well as two children from a previous marriage.
With a smile that could melt the world, Jamie loved with his whole heart. It was as if his mission in life was to brighten the day of everyone he came across, if even just for that moment. This was evident in his neighborhood, workplace, the local grocery store, and with his “Planet People” at Planet Fitness in Stow, where he had worked out for many years - literally everywhere he went. For a few years, he enjoyed playing softball each spring with the Stow Alliance Fellowship team. He was “that guy” that everyone could count on, and he loved each of you so much. He will be dearly missed by many.
As a hobby, he enjoyed dealing blackjack at the hand-made tables with his best friend, Les. The past few years, he was making lives better as an associate with Goodyear in Green, OH. His powerful love for people was exercised beautifully while he was a Physician Assistant (PA) for over a decade. Jamie achieved a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Sciences, after earning an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences in Surgical Assisting and an Associate Degree in Biology. Jamie graduated high school from Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, OH in 1975, where he enjoyed leading their football team to victories.
Through this one man, God touched so many lives and his greatest prayer for you all is that you, like him, find the greatest joy in doing the same.
Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart.
