STOW - James (Jim) F. Kraynak, 80, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 29, 2022.
Jim embraced a life of hard work, harder play, and profound love for his family. His generous spirit and playful sense of humor will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Born in Youngstown, OH, Jim was a Stow resident for over 40 years. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Youngstown, OH, in 1959, and from Youngstown State University with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1965, after working his way through college. Jim enjoyed a life of great Faith and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He retired as President and COO of Saint-Gobain Norpro in 2002, and had served as a Stow Police Reserve officer through the 1970s and 1980s. Jim was generous with his time and served on the Board of Directors at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, as well as other volunteer positions.
Jim considered himself the luckiest man who ever lived thanks to his wife and family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Linda; his five children, Julie D'Antonio, Karin (John) Cibella, Missy Callahan (Frank Esper), Mike (Natalie) Callahan, and Mel (Jeff) Burniston; his fifteen (!!!) grandchildren, Nick, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Karaline, Sarah, Logan, Brandon, Carter, Wyatt, Nate, Reese, Aidan, Aubrey, Bailey, and Meghan; siblings, Joe Kraynak, Val Wells, Mary Ann (David) Collins, and John Kraynak. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Kraynak, and brother-in-law, Jim Wells. His family is comforted knowing that Jim is reunited with those he had lost.
