CUYAHOGA FALLS - Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, James O. “Jim” Lord, 79, died unexpectedly June 27, 2024.
Born in Washington D.C., Jim resided most of his life in Cuyahoga Falls, graduating from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1963. He worked at General Tire & Rubber Company for 12 years as an accountant, and then with Herbert Machine Works as a programmer for 30 years, retiring in 2010.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Judy Lord (nee Skidmore); granddaughter, Lacey Kline; dear daughter, Joy Sabistina; brother-in-law, Bill Franke, and his parents, Chester and Dorothy M. Lord.
He is survived by his daughters, Denise Pekar, and son, Ronald J. Lord, both of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; Christie (Steve) Scharboneau, of New River, AZ; Jami (Jeff) Smith, of Tallmadge, OH, and darling sister, Judy Franke, of Marysville, OH. He is also survived by 15 wonderful grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and many wonderful cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In accordance with Jim’s wishes, there will be no calling hours and cremation has taken place. A memorial service for friends and family, celebrating Jim’s life, will be announced later.
