James (Jim) Michael Skripac

STOW - James (Jim) Michael Skripac, 71, passed away after a courageous, 12-year battle with Parkinson’s on September 25, 2023. He was born on October 8, 1951, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late George and Mary Skripac.

Jim was married to the love of his life, Catherine (Cathy), for 52 years before she unexpectedly passed away in December of 2022. He was a dedicated and loving father to Jennifer Skripac and Christopher Skripac (Connie), and proud Papa of his grandchildren, Paige and Benjamin. He is survived by his sister, Susan Skripac, of Arizona, and was preceded in death by his three brothers, Steven, John, and Joseph Skripac. Jim will be greatly missed by many, many nieces and nephews.

Jim retired from SOHIO/BP Oil after 40 plus years of service. He was a parishioner at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hudson. Jim took great pride in his active involvement in the St. Mary’s Men’s Club, especially his dedicated work on the Lenten Seafood Dinners. Jim loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed hosting cookouts and during the holidays, making treasured family recipes. The simple moments in life brought Jim the most joy: hiking with Cathy, making breakfast for his grandkids before school, and being the anchor for annual family vacations to Glen Lake.

Our family will miss his playful and loving sarcasm, as well as his strength and calm demeanor in any situation. We will never forget his words of wisdom and kind soul.

Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, Ohio 44224, for visitation, Thursday, 5 to 7:30 PM, where Rosary service will be held at 7:30 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, 11 AM, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 340 North Main Street, Hudson, Ohio 44236.  Burial All Saints Cemetery.
