Stow - Janice L. Brechtelsbauer passed away August 7, 2022.
She is survived by her sons, Joel, Jon (Lori), James (Teri), and Jeremy (Andrea); eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria (Don) Lay, and brother, David (Laura) Hancock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joshua, and her son, Jeffrey.
Janice was born on August 27, 1936, in Toledo, Ohio, to parents, Lawrence and Marjorie Hancock. An active member of the New Apostolic Church, Janice served as an organist, Sunday School teacher, and choir member for many years. She fully embraced her role as matriarch of the family and unselfishly provided unconditional support to all. Her moral compass, creative abilities, love for gardening and music, will always be cherished and will be passed along to the younger generation. She never forgot a birthday, and her strawberry pies and apple cakes were enjoyed by many. She volunteered much of her time serving along with her late husband, Joshua, in many facets, such as soul care, flower arrangements, and fellowships. Janice was also a professional seamstress for many years of her life and ran a small business. Her friends will always remember her as a spiritually devout, loving, and honorable individual.
