Obituary of Jean A. Groborchik




HUDSON - Jean A. Groborchik, 84, died November 17, 2021.

Jean was born in Cleveland and graduated from Jane Addams Vocational High School in 1955 and later from Boheckers Business College. Jean resided in Kent for three years while her husband, George, was a student at Kent State University. Following that, they moved to Tallmadge where she raised her family. Since 1979, she was a resident of Hudson where she was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Jean worked at Cleveland City Hall, First National Bank in Kent, and Laurel Lake Retirement Center as a dining room manager. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and traveling.

Preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Adeline Tomasek, she is survived by her husband of 62 years, George Groborchik; daughter, Georgina (John) Hermann; son, Gerold "Gerry" (Janet) Groborchik; grandchildren, Monica Hermann, Stephen (Anna) Hermann, Grace Groborchik, Eli Groborchik; great-granddaughter, Addison Hermann; sister, Donna (Larry) Borosh; two nieces and two nephews.

The family would like to thank special caregiver, Angel, neighbors, Nicolette, and Chris Maksim, Lori Joseph, RN, parish nurse and her team at St. Mary's, and special friends, Ann Marie Guenther and Jean O'Mara.

Friends may call 3 PM to 5 PM Sunday at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, 44224. Mass of the Christian Burial 11 AM Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church of Hudson, 340 N. Main Street, Hudson, 44236.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Feed My Sheep Ministries and the Cancer Support Group of St. Mary's, 340 N. Main Street, Hudson, OH 44236.
