Joan Anita Cox

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA - Joan Anita Cox, 81, died March 16, 2023.

Born in Wheeling, West Virginia and raised in Lansing, Ohio, Joan was a lifetime resident and longtime member of First Christian Church in Wheeling. She was a stay-at-home mom raising two sons. Her first priority was her family. She also enjoyed volunteer activities and making various crafts. Her kindness and quick wit enriched friends and family alike.

She died Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Maplewood Senior Living in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

Joan was born August 30, 1941, in Wheeling, the fourth child of John A. and Ruth I. Murrin. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Carson Jay Cox, and brothers, Don and Gene Murrin. She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Cox of New York City and Kevin (Kelly) Cox; granddaughter, Haley Rose, of Lovettsville, Virginia; sister, Lois (Richard) Fawcett and sister-in-law, Carlotta Crowder, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

Rev. Jonathan Rumburg will conduct a Memorial Service, Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 1 PM, at First Christian Church of Stow, 3493 Darrow Road, Stow 44224 , where friends may call from noon until service time.
