Joan M. (Kissel) Curry

STOW - Joan M. (Kissel) Curry, 95, passed away February 26, 2023.

Born in Cuyahoga Falls, she had been a long-time resident of Stow. Joan loved to sew and crochet, was a member of Stow Sunshiners, and also of Akron Baptist Temple, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Joan also resided at Cardinal Retirement Village in Cuyahoga Falls for nine years where she served as the “president” of the residents. Joan retired as a cafeteria worker from the Stow Board of Education.

Preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Kissel; second husband, Junior Curry, and daughter, Linda Hardman, she is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Phelps, Diane Waskowski, and Pamela Varga; ten grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Pastor Dan Page will conduct service Thursday, 12 noon, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, where friends may call from 10 AM until service time. Burial Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
