Joan Mccoy (Barker)

STOW - Joan McCoy (Barker) passed away at the age of 94, on January 12, 2024, peacefully at Vitalia Senior Residences in Stow, Ohio.

She was the oldest of five girls. Joan was an avid golfer, bowler, and bridge player. She enjoyed reading, word games of all kinds, and had numerous collections of bells, ornaments, and bone china, to name a few. Joan was an amazing homemaker who took great pride in raising her four children, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Family was everything to her. She never hesitated to volunteer and share her kindness and compassion with every life she touched.

Joan was a devoted wife who married her husband, Robert, seventy-four years ago in Akron, Ohio. The high school sweethearts were married one day after her twentieth birthday.

Joan was preceded in death by her father, J. Clifford Barker and her mother, Marion Barker; sisters, Jeanice Rexroad and Jeanette Spicer, and son, Robert McCoy, Jr. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert E. McCoy; sisters, Jackie Silvers and Juanita Gehm; daughters, Barbara Cramer (Danny Cramer), Mary Jo Pollock (Richard Pollock), Lynn Clancy (Michael Clancy), and son, Dale McCoy (Kris); grandchildren, Shenley Girard, Trevor Leysock, Kameron McKinney, Shelby Mills, Kasey Borrell, Stacey Cramer, and great-grandchildren, Jack and Bodhi Girard, Victoria and Vivienne Leysock, and Adeline and Aubree Borrell.

Funeral service will be held Friday, January 19, 2024, at 1 PM, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, where friends may call from 12 Noon until service time. Burial Greenlawn Memorial Park.
