John M. Gill

John Gill, 56, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2016. John was raised in Shaker Heights by his adoptive parents John and Barbara Gill, who have preceded him in death. For nearly 30 years, John has lived in Stow under the loving care of his Foster Mother, Judy Walker. John enjoyed reading the daily newspaper and following local and national news. He was interested in politics and sports and enjoyed watching the Cavs, Indians and Browns. Judy was John's best friend and he enjoyed riding with her in the car, going to restaurants and attending family gatherings. He also loved music, old western movies and he enjoyed spending time with his foster brothers, Tom Cunningham and David Goldie, close friend, Lisa Etterman and nurse Bridget Digeronimo.
John was the son of the late Barbara H. Gill Shaw and the late John (Jack) K. Gill, Jr. and is survived by his sister Jane Gill Henry (James Kirk Henry), brother James Price Gill, nephew James H. Henry, and nieces Tinsley L. Henry and Shannon Gill.
Friends are invited to the Redmon Funeral Home for a memorial service Saturday 3:30 pm with The Rev. Charlotte Reed Collins officiating. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board, 89 E. Howe Rd., Tallmadge, OH 44278.
