John P. Schirra

CUYAHOGA FALLS - John P. Schirra, age 67, passed away December 1, 2022.

He was born in Akron, Ohio, and resided in Cuyahoga Falls. He was a valued employee at Schneller, Inc. of Kent, OH, for 30 years as controller and vice-president. He was an active member of the Institute of Management Accountants.

John graduated from Walsh Jesuit High School in 1973, and The University of Akron in 1978. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

In his younger days, he was a competitive chess player. He enjoyed playing games with his family. He loved nature and the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his father, John B. Schirra, and is survived by his mother, Mary; loving wife of 39 years, Susan; daughter, Christy, and son, Michael; sister, Judy (John) O’Neil, and brothers, Jeff (Donna), Joe, Jim (Kathy), and Jerry (Penny).

Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, for visitation on Sunday from 5 to 7 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial Monday 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow 44224, Fr. Paul Rosing celebrant. Burial Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
