Joseph (Joey) Patrick Collins

HUDSON - Joseph Patrick Collins, (Joey), was a registered nurse who had a gift for serving others. He died on April 29, 2023, at the age of 42.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving parents, George and Janice (Shaheen) Collins; his brother, David (Lillian Butcher) Collins; niece and nephew, Leah and Ben Collins; aunts; uncles; cousins, and his faithful dog, Izzy. He was preceded in death by his brother, George Ryan Collins.

Joey was a resident of Cuyahoga Falls for the majority of his life, and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School. He attended the University of Akron where he studied computer science and business administration for three years.

Joey furthered his education at Fortis College, where he earned an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing. As a registered nurse, he lovingly cared for his residents at Heather Knoll Nursing and Rehabilitation, Highland Square Rehabilitation, and most recently at the Avenue at Macedonia Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Joey's passion for health and wellness was also evident in his personal life through his interests in cooking, personal fitness, and weekly viewings of various Sunday sports with his dad, George.

Joey was a dependable, loyal, and reliable friend to those in need, and always quick to lend a hand. He was a man of compassion, fortitude, and grace; a gentle soul who embraced his family and friends with kindness and integrity and willingly shared his wisdom and experience that he gained over the years.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, Ohio. Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023, from 4 - 7 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at Redmon Funeral Home. Burial Oakwood Cemetery.
