Joseph "Charlie" Feldman

February 8, 1933 — October 9, 2022

HUDSON - Joseph “Charlie” Feldman, 89, died October 9, 2022.

Joseph Charles Feldman was born in Cuyahoga Falls in 1933, to Eva Kovar and Joseph Ray Feldman, the third of six children. He married Marjorie “Marge” Pavkov in 1958, with whom he settled in Hudson in 1960. A lifelong educator, Chuck worked as a teacher of wood shop and industrial arts at Western Reserve Academy and at Hudson High School, a career from which he retired in 1998. However, he was never content sitting still, and he continued a variety of pursuits throughout his retirement, including painting, woodworking, and most notably, garlic farming. He owned and operated Charlie’s Gourmet Garlic Farm with his wife, Marge, out of their home in Hudson for the past fifteen years. Loyal customers return every summer to buy fresh, organic garlic and strike up a conversation with the Garlic King himself.

A man of great faith often known to quote Psalms and other Bible passages from memory, Chuck was a member of the Hudson Campus of Christ Community Chapel. Throughout his life, he was many things: an educator, pilot, farmer, guitarist, writer, artist, outdoorsman, and master craftsman. Always a lover of adventure and travel, he visited dozens of countries throughout his lifetime across five continents. Among these were many European countries that he travelled to during his time serving in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1954-56.

Above all Charlie, loved his family and the time he spent with them. His four children, twelve grandchildren, and great-granddaughter were his pride and joy.

Preceded in death by brothers, William, Fred, and Dan Feldman; sister, Ruth Kupfer; and son-in-law, Al Sparber, he is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marge Feldman; daughters, Carol Sparber and Linda (Stephen) McCain; sons, Thomas (Rashel) and Charles “Will” (Sarah) Feldman; grandchildren, Ryan Sparber, Melanie Sparber, Bethany (John) McCain-Seewoester, Courtney McCain, Meredith McCain, Sela Feldman, Eliana Feldman, Liora Feldman, Joshua Feldman, Eva Feldman, William Feldman, and Ally Feldman; great-granddaughter, Felicity, and sister, Patricia Suter.
