Juanita R. Graham

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Juanita R. Graham, RN, beloved wife of Richard A. Graham, died 8 November 2023.

Juanita was born in Akron, Ohio, 8 March 1928, to Michael and Evelyn (Brubaker) Bertka, and she lived in Cuyahoga Falls almost her entire life. She graduated as a Registered Nurse (RN) from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Shaker Heights, initially was a physician’s office nurse, and then worked at Akron City Hospital for over 40 years. Active in Mended Hearts and professional nursing organizations, Juanita worked tirelessly as a member or as an officer of these organizations. She also was an active member of Tallmadge Lutheran Church.

She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, and her brothers, Keith and Robert. She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Jan Graham, Sara Sanborn (Jon), and son, Michael (Pam) Graham. She also leaves six grandchildren: Kenneth (Chelsea), Stephen, Audra, Jana (Tom), Tyler (Jenna), and Aaron; and five great-grandchildren: Perry, Shane, Amelia, Charlotte, and Noah. She is also survived by her brother, Milton Bertka (Beverly), nieces and nephews, and many friends.

The Graham family wishes to thank the following: special niece, Sheri, for everything she did for Juanita over the years; special friends, Linda and Debbi, for all their support; very good neighbor, Rob; Pastor Andy Alberts for his spiritual care; Traditions Hospice staff for the care and compassion provided; and the staff of Sunrise of Cuyahoga Falls for all the kindness toward and care of Juanita during the last few years.

Services will be held at Tallmadge Lutheran Church, 759 East Avenue, Tallmadge, OH 44278, Pastor Andy Alberts officiating, at 11 AM, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, with calling hours at the church from 9:30 - 11 AM. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
