STOW - Karen Lee Morris, 68, died May 20, 2024, following a long and brave encounter with cancer. She was a warrior for seven years. Karen was born September 24, 1955, to the late William and Roberta Morris. She was a resident of Stow since 1960.
Karen was married to John Schrier and lived for a while in Oregon. Returning to Ohio, Karen received her bachelor's degree and RN from the Akron University. She was an advocate for her patients, often working in critical care. Karen was observant, caring, and focused on what she felt was best for her patients.
Following her retirement from nursing, Karen enjoyed working at the Summit County Board of Elections. She maintained a lively sense of interest in politics and human rights. Karen enjoyed old movies, often watching them late at night.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Stow. Karen participated in Bible study groups, sang in the chancel choir, and served on the trustees committee.
She is survived by her sisters, Lisa Morris and Laura Csonka, (husband, John); nephews, Jacob (wife, Jennie), and Christopher (wife, Bree).
Pastor Michael Swab will conduct a memorial service, Sunday, June 2, 2024, at 2:30 PM, at the United Methodist Church in Stow, 4880 Fishcreek Road, Stow OH, 44224. There will be a time for fellowship following the memorial service.
