AKRON - Karis R. Lyon, 95, passed away March 10, 2024.

Karis was born September 10, 1928, in Brooklyn, NY. She was a graduate and adamant fan of The Ohio State University and their Buckeyes! She had been employed most recently with the Lorain County Historical Society as a librarian and genealogist, retired. Karis was a founding member of United Methodist Church in Stow, Ohio. She was an active member of the PEO International organization, (a group of women that support the educational opportunities for women), and enjoyed sewing her famous Pooh bears for family members and others, as well as reading and collecting cooking recipes.

Her life was filled with many various experiences allowing her to travel and see the world. But mostly, the thing to remember about Karis, is her love of talking with people, known or strangers, and getting to know their history. She also was a very humorous lady!
